High Performance Partnerships
To effectively strengthen families and communities, public and community based organizations need to work together towards shared outcomes and move beyond a simple vendor/contractor relationship. Strategies' High Performance Partnership Initiative provides training, facilitation, and technical assistance to emerging and existing public/private partnerships in six key areas:
- Trust
- Shared Values
- Organizational Culture Change
- Joint Resource Development
- Integrated Learning Systems
- Systems, Structure, and Accountability
The High Performance Partnership concept was originally developed by the National Academy of Public Administration and has a focus on producing significant results supported by "a structure for individual organizations to share authority, resources and accountability for achieving a mutually decided goal." This model, along with other stakeholder interviews and feedback from pilot projects, has provided a framework from which Strategies' approach has grown.
While this approach can be applied to many different areas of public/private partnership, Strategies specializes in promoting the implementation of Differential Response through community partnerships between family support and county agencies. This type of partnership was a key recommendation of California's Child Welfare Stakeholders process and in legislation known as AB636.
